Chipper Project Complete

Five weeks and five weekends - Piers Islanders worked to FireSmart their properties and have the trimmed branches chipped in their allotted weekends.  34 properties opted in for having a FireSmart Hazard Assessment completed, but even more were involved with FireSmart'ing even without having had an assessment done.  
There were a number of Islanders who came out for every work weekend and to give a helping hand during the week, just to keep up with the amount of debris being hauled out of properties.  Special thanks to the dedicated regulars who made the project work.  
The volunteer hours haven't been tabulated yet, but they are phenomenal.  Kudos Piers Island for jumping into the FireSmart program.
