Everyone is a winner when you FireSmart!  For those on Piers Island who have a FireSmart Widlfire Hazard Assessment done, we will have prizes to award for Most Improved Score.  So, you need to have the assessment done...to have your improvement recorded! There will be 5 awarded per Zone, these lovely picnic totes come with cheese boards, knive, forks and corkscrew.

Our thanks to those who came out on a beautiful sunny day to learn about FireSmart and the grant Piers Island has received from UBCM for FireSmart Educational Activities and FireSmart Weekends that will occur on Piers.

We are in a Wildland Interface Area (WUI) on Piers, but there are steps we can take to safeguard our properties.  Our best results will come from working together as a community and the great turnout on May 7th to learn about it was very positive.  

Can Piers Island become a FireSmart Community?  A resounding YES is the answer.
